Nov 7th Loft flew and hot bath!! They are RED HOT!!
Nov 6th The past to days the birds have flown 4 hours, yes 4, routing for an hour at a time. If you don't believe it stop by for breakfast!!
Nov 4th Loft flew two hours yesterday and will do the same today and take a dip in the pool!!
Nov 2nd Loft flew them yesterday and they skinny dipped in some warm water and bath salts. Right now they are ripping huge holes in the cool skies over Glitter Gulch as I write!
I have never had more pleasure with birds than this team you all sent me. I have so much confidence in them they could fly through a wall.
Oct 30th Kept them in in preperation for the 200 tomorrow. They gave me three hours without any questions yesterday!! Wish you all lived closer so you could see them come tomorrow.
Oct 29th They have been playing for an hour in a light breeze limbering up for the 200 mile race I think will happen tomorrow!!
Stay tuned!
Oct 28th. I kept them in the loft yesterday and today as it has been gusting to 70mph!!
Oct 26th My kind of desert morning!! 7:00 I just let them out and they are tearing the cool sky to shreds!!
Oct 25th It is a little breezy and is supposed to lay down in the afternoon. If it does I will loft fly the troops.
October 24th It is Saturday and Debbie has a club race so I will let them out for a fly and bath after her club birds are back. I am looking at next Thursday or Friday for the 200 mile race. That gives the birds plenty of time to recoup if it is a hard day.
Oct 22st Toss 20 This is the 150 mile toss. Wow these birds are Rockets!!
Oct 18th Toss 19. This is the 100 mile toss.Great toss!
Toss 18 Update The first crate flew 80 miles in one hour and 20 minutes which is 1760 YPM!!!!! I am not in phone contact with Cecil and I will get the wind when I can. Stay tuned!
Oct 16th Toss 18. Where did the time go this morning? It is already 5 o'clock!! Superday and cecil is on his way back to Rainbow. We are planning to fly the 100 Sunday, stay tuned!! The 100 will be the first time we will release them together.
Oct 15th Update! Cecil says they are blasting out of there! Again one crate at a time. Stay tuned. The first bunch made it in 1hour 47 minutes!! About 1320 YPM.
Oct 15th Toss 17. NO WIND!! Clear sky and 60 deg. Cecil just pulled out for Rainbow. It is 80 miles and a great training spot.
Oct 14th. We were blew out again and they will have a bath in the loft!!
Oct 13th 4:30 No go!! The wind is howling!! It is a steady wind out of the south at 30mph and gusts to 45 are expected later today!!!
Oct 12th Toss 16. 4:30am Smells like rain but it NEVER rains!!! The birds are fired up after a day of R&R. Cecil will let them go at the 50 today and we are planning on taking them to Rainbow 80 miles Wednesday.I would like to fly the 100 on the 16th if Mother Nature leaves us alone in the wind dept. Last week we had the folowing birds wired CS 9736 Necaise 325 NRPL 9108 Vita 4336 Den 740 they can go back home, CPCA 0136 was not repairible.
Oct 11th We all took the day off. It is a beautiful day but I felt I had given them all the work and thinking they needed. They are bathing in the green bath salts donated by SUPER SPONSORS, Wendy and Bert Oostlander of Global Pigeon Supply, Savanna, Georgia Give them a call at 912-356-3495 for your needs!!
I have the VEGASRACE.US youngsters out,all but 20 new ones. There are 310 birds either in quarantine or here for the race so far. If all the reserved spots come through we will break 400 birds.
Oct 10th Toss 15. Back to the 50 mile station and Cecil reports they left way better than yesterday. I have a Three Amigos bird, 0389 that can't continue. The birds are now getting home and coming well. NRPL 9108 is going home!! Some birds got in the wires the past two days.
Oct 9 Toss 14/4:30am Cecil just pulled out headed to Coyote Springs which is 50 miles. He will be releasing one crate at a time ,20 birds, starting at sunup! Not a cloud in the sky, 55 degrees I would guess and pigeon weather for sure.
Toss 13 update!! They learned a bunch when they made a hard time of the last toss!! They are busting in like they should today!! We also had three more birds come early this morning,so we are only out two from the last toss. One belonging to Three Girls from Mexico is bruised and will R&R for a least a week to 10 days.
Oct 8th Toss 13 /5:00 am /Cecil just headed back over the mountains to the 35 mile toss. We got 195 of the aprox 200 we tossed on the 6th. We started training with 220 birds an have 195 ,so we have lost slightly more than 10% in 12 tosses. This is the best we have ever done. The weather is perfect this time of year,60 in the mornings and high 70's in the afternoon. Cecil always give the birds an hour on the toss site before he starts releasing. Almost for got to say I kept all the late birds home as they flew alot of miles getting back!!
Oct 7th With the help of Germany I got things up an working. A new program is like learning to fly again!!
We have 14 imore in this morning and we are only out 10 or so. The hawks have been in them and the back wing of Ken Christopers bird is missing. She was brought back by Joel Lopez when she traped at his loft. One of George Rankins birds has a nick from a hawk on its back and will be fine and I have a Necaise bird with a bum leg. I will keep my eye on it daily but doubt it will be able to get back in the fight!!
The Inventory has been up dated!! I expect most of the birds back as they are in super health and condition.
Oct 6th real dark!!
Just told Cecil ,World Champion hauler at 85 years of age to keep bowling and sleep in tomorrow!! Good night!
Oct 6th at dark!!
It was not an easy day on the mountain, but some learning was done that will help them in the future. I have 175 birds back out of, just guessing, 200 sent!! More will be here tomorrow as they are in SUPER health and condition!
I down loaded a new program that tracks the birds better and I have to get on the phone with Germany at 4 in the morning to figure out what I am doing wrong!!
Oct 6th Toss 12 They are making a hard day of it!! This is their toughest toss in the series and few will be lost after this toss. I will post the cock at dark!!
Oct 5th Toss 11 Oh Buddy!!! Great toss! The troops are ready to go over the mountain tomorrow!! Cecil is a crack up talking about this team!! He told me they don't pay attention to anything they just go home!
Oct 4th No toss!! We had a full night of Nevada Rain, that is what some of us call the wind. It is gusting to 55 mph. The out look for tomorrow is real good.
Oct 3rd Toss 10. Cecil was back at the Speedway and he said if he wasn't paying close attention they would leave without him seeing them! We will toss tomorrow at the same place and then the next day the big jump over the MOUNTAINS!! I will run the clock on this toss. Bear in mind that the birds will be tossed 20 at a time and we will be clocking for three hours.
Oct 2nd Toss 9. Had to put on a jacket this morning it was 53F. Cecil had all the birds with him on the trailer and took them to the Speedway, that is 25 miles!! He reports they left straight away!! He is all fired up about this group of birds and says they are the best ever!! He has been training birds for 35 years so these have to be good ones!! I can't wait to get them over the mountains and I will run the clock and post it. There are not many missing and only a couple straglers.
Oct 1st Toss 8. What a great morning, sixty degrees, breezy!! The birds blasted out after being locked up for two days!! I was like they made a jail break!! They are still tearing holes in the sky and tripping here at the loft.
Tomorrow they will go all the way across town to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Sept 30th We really had the wind last night with this cold front moving through. It has just started to lay down but we are keeping them in again today. In the desert the winds can get out of control quickly and it isn't worth the chance. It is cold as heck, 60F!!
Sept 29th We kept the birds in because the wind was trying to blow the loft off the foundation!! Tune in tomorrow as it the forcast is good!
Sept 28th Toss 7. We went to the same places and had the same great results!! We will go back to the same places tomorrow for the third time and then Cecil will take all of them to the north side of town by Las Vegas Motor Speedway 25 miles. With this toss they are completely across town.
This is the best our money birds have ever trained. But at some point Murphy's law will kick us in the -ss!!
Sept 27th Toss 6. Cecil both went to seperate site 15 miles and the birds never circled.
Sept 26th Toss 5. They left like BULLETS with no circleing!! We both went to the same seperate places we went yesterday and tomorrow we will go to seperate places at 15 miles. They will get 3 tosses there and then we will take them all the way across town to Apex which is 25 miles. When Cecil takes them all to Apex the will be released 20 at a time as that is what we put in each crate. The crates are 30X40 inches and aluminum.
Sept 25th Toss 4. Took them to 8 miles again. They left the boxes, faned out and went home. Then they went tripping. They are a teriffic group.
Sept 24th Toss 3. Cecil and I went separately as always to about 8 miles the birds cleared very well. Again 12 at a time. We toss 12 at a time untill we get them across the Valley of Never Ending Peril also know as Glitter Gulch!!
Sept 23rd Toss 2. Same place,12 at a time and Bang they are gone!!
Sept 22nd Toss 1. The birds were released 12 at a time at 5 miles and cleared very well. They are still up and enjoying the cool weather. We will let them fly their little hearts out before we call them in.
Yea right, call them in!! Most flew over two hours!! They are ROCKING!!!
